Emergency Family Assistance

Financial and material assistance is provided either by telephone or through personal contact. In response to each unique situation, the staff screens the applicant and explains what services are available. The Assistance Center of Collin County processes 24,000 calls and assists 17,000 persons annually. This is achieved by working with the following agencies and special partners:

  • Holy Nativity Episcopal Church / Plano Food Pantry – approximately 1,621 families served annually
  • First Presbyterian Church / Clothes Closet - 156 families served annually
  • Resurrection Lutheran Church / School Supply Project – Almost 2,000 children received school supplies this year
  • School Shoe Project - 1,625 children received school shoes - coordinated by 9 Plano churches
  • Christ United Methodist Church / Thanksgiving Program - 250 families received Thanksgiving food
  • Plano Santas Christmas Program - 602 families received toys and food
  • TXU Energy Aid
  • United Way Community Fund
  • EFSP (Emergency Food and Shelter Program)
