The 2016-2017 school year is just around the corner and the Assistance Center’s Tools for School program needs your support more than ever!

Who the program serves: Plano ISD students whose families income is at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines. 29% of children attending school in Plano ISD- almost 1/3- are considered economically disadvantaged. These families experience a range of short-term and long-term situations that can affect their financial status including unemployment, under-employment, disabilities, grandparents raising grandchildren and single parent households. The Center works to engage all families with our various programs to ultimately bring about long-term economic stability, but while our families work on their goals, having school supplies provided at no cost for each child can lift a huge weight off of their shoulders.

What we provide: Each child receives a backpack, supplies and a gift card to Payless Shoes

How YOU can help: Host a school supplies drive or collect funds with your church group, social circle, office or civic organization, or simply donate supplies/funds as an individual. Donations are accepted at the Assistance Center during regular office hours on an ongoing basis from June 13 – August 5. Please use the contact form to let us know that you plan to host a drive or if you need any additional information.
